New Astronomy Series

The Stars have aligned.  Come to the Glastonbury Planetarium and enjoy these 4 new classes.   Classes can be taken individually or the full series.

(Series of 4 classes is $89) To register for the series please call 860-343-6044.

 

The Planetarium is located at the:  Glastonbury East Hartford Magnet School, 95 Oak Street, Glastonbury.

Enter at the main school entrance.  The planetarium entrance is just inside to the left.  Doors will open at 6:30 pm

Please Note:  You must arrive 6:30-6:45 pm, as class starts promptly at 7:00 pm after which the planetarium doors are closed.  They cannot accept late arrivals.

 

CONSTELLATION MYTHOLOGY AND SCIENCE
For thousands of years, humans have looked to the sky and found familiar shapes in the stars that they used to tell stories about their own cultures and beliefs. This class will explore constellations from cultures around the world including Greek, Middle Eastern, Chinese, Incan, and more. We’ll also learn about how people have used constellations to navigate over land and sea, and how modern astronomers use constellations to help them map the sky and make new discoveries.

Please arrive promptly.  Doors are open 6:45 pm and will remain open until 7:00 pm
