(She is a Middletown resident who started her backyard chicken adventure as a pandemic project in 2020. She currently has five hens.)
Dreaming of fresh eggs from your own backyard chicken flock? This course will show you how to get started. Learn the basics of chicken care including breed selection, coops, runs, feed, and how to protect chickens from predators, pests and injury. (This course will not cover egg incubation, nor raising meat chickens.) There will be two classroom sessions and one field trip to meet my flock and see how to put the learning into action. Be prepared to take notes.
