Description
Introduction to Astronomy
Jason Archer and John Mezsaros, astronomers and educators.
This is for stargazers and those who like to ponder the mysteries of the universe. Using the planetarium for adults and older teens this will present an introduction to planetary stellar and galactic astronomy as well as introduce a basic understanding of our night sky and the many celestial objects found within.

The Planetarium is located at the: Glastonbury East Hartford Magnet School, 95 Oak Street, Glastonbury.
Enter at the main school entrance. The planetarium entrance is just inside to the left. Doors will open at 6:30 pm
Please Note: You must arrive 6:30-6:45 pm, as class starts promptly at 7:00 pm after which the planetarium doors are closed. They cannot accept late arrivals.
The Giant Planets
Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are the giants of our solar system. Their great sizes have changed and sculpted the way other celestial bodies orbit our sun. But what are they made of? What lies under their thick clouds? How did they acquire so many moons? And how did their rings form? Learn about the development and planetology of our titanic neighbors and the history of study of these unique worlds.
