Description
This class is designed for those who have mastered basic stitches and are looking to bring their skills to the next level. Many methods for creating raised embroidery will be taught, including stumpwork and wire piecing (stumpwork is a style of three-dimensional hand embroidery that uses padding, wire, and specialized techniques to make designs pop off the fabric, instead of lying flat against a background, elements like petals, insects, or clothing are stitched separately, shaped, and attached to create a realistic, sculptural effect.) You will explore adding mixed media elements such as beads and felted shapes to your piece. This class will be fun and challenging. Materials fee of $15 payable to instructor first night of class.
