Description
This is a beginning soap making class, where you will learn the simple benefits of the simple luxury of hand-made soap, seen in country stores or boutiques. The first session will be informative, outlining the benefits of natural hand-made soaps and then describing in detail how soap is made. The second session is where the real fun happens. You will make your own
2 1/2 lb. Loaf of soap. You will choose one of the soap recipes to make in class, then bring your soap home to eventually slice and let cure. Materials fee of $38 payable to instructor at the first class, which will include soap ingredients, soap mold, mixing bucket, safety goggles, a spatula and a whisk, all of which you take home for the next time you make soap at home.
Please note: you will need to bring your own crock pot for the second class. But rest assured, while lye is involved in making natural soap, no lye will touch the crock pot, it will only be used to warm up the oils.
