Description
Astronomers recognize 88 official constellations including familiar star patterns like Orion and Ursa Major. In this class we will learn about the history of constellations in the Northern Hemisphere from their origins in Mesopotamia and Egypt through ancient Greece and into the modern age. We’ll learn how astronomers use constellations to map the sky, and how some people have used them to navigate.
