Description
Introduction to Astronomy
Jason Archer and John Mezsaros, astronomers and educators.
This is for stargazers and those who like to ponder the mysteries of the universe. Using the planetarium for adults and older teens, this series will present an introduction to planetary stellar and galactic astronomy as well as introduce a basic understanding of our night sky and the many celestial objects found within.

First class in the series is:
Exoplanets
Beyond our solar system are untold numbers of worlds orbiting other stars. Some of
these worlds may be similar to the planets of our own solar system, but many are unlike
anything we are familiar with. In this class we will learn how astronomers find
exoplanets and the different types they have discovered.
The Planetarium is located at the: Glastonbury East Hartford Magnet School, 95 Oak Street, Glastonbury. Enter at the main school entrance. The planetarium entrance is just inside to the left. Doors will open at 6:30 pm
Please Note: You must arrive 6:30-6:45 pm, as class starts promptly at 7:00 pm after which the planetarium doors are closed. They cannot accept late arrivals.
