Description
Introduction to Astronomy
Jason Archer and John Mezsaros, astronomers and educators.
This is for stargazers and those who like to ponder the mysteries of the universe. Using the planetarium for adults and older teens, this series will present an introduction to planetary stellar and galactic astronomy as well as introduce a basic understanding of our night sky and the many celestial objects found within.

Galaxies
The Milky Way is just one of billions of galaxies spinning through the universe. In this class we will learn about the anatomy of galaxies and how they change over time. We will explore different kinds of galaxies, including the most distant galaxies that formed near the beginning of the universe. We will find out what happens when galaxies merge together and how this process may have shaped our own Milky Way.
The Planetarium is located at the: Glastonbury East Hartford Magnet School, 95 Oak Street, Glastonbury.
Enter at the main school entrance. The planetarium entrance is just inside to the left. Doors will open at 6:30 pm
Please Note: You must arrive 6:30-6:45 pm, as class starts promptly at 7:00 pm after which the planetarium doors are closed. They cannot accept late arrivals.
